Information for New Families
Welcome and congratulations on your acceptance to St. James Lutheran School! We are excited for you to enjoy all the benefits our community has to offer. On this page please find information that will be helpful as your child begins at St. James.
St. James Family Mentor Program
The Family Mentor Program was developed to help introduce new parents and students to St. James Lutheran School. The program is intended to give each incoming family a point of contact for questions and information to make them as comfortable and knowledgeable as possible as they transition to a new school. To help make your experience of transitioning to St. James as smooth as possible, you will be contacted by an existing family, or Mentor Family, who can serve as a point of contact for your general questions.
We have families who have been at St. James for a few years, which means they have been here long enough to be familiar but still remember those first year uncertainties. They are willing to share their knowledge and make new parents and their children feel welcome. Mentor families are asked to call new families on a regular basis to touch base, answer questions that arise and invite you to attend our school events throughout the year. You might make new, lifelong friends, and of course, you will share the wonderful warmth of the St. James family.
If you have questions regarding the Family Mentor Program, please e-mail Sue Lichner at firstname.lastname@example.org or call 773-525-4990.
